Sudanese Woman Sentenced to Death for ‘Apostasy’ in KHARTOUM

A sudanese woman doctor who married a christian man was convicted earlier this week for Apostasy after breaching the Islamic sharia law.

The law recommends that no muslim woman should marry a man from other religion although men are allowed, considering the children are going to follow the religion of their father.

The woman was given 4 days to repend but was convicted after the ultimatum as expiredon charges of Apostasy and sentenced to death on Thursday according to judicial official.

The court also ordered Ibrahim to collect 100 lashes for commiting zena, adultry by marrying a non-muslim.

Amnesty international condemned the sentenced and officials calls for Ibrahim's immediate release. They also added that adultry shouldn't be labelled as crime of any type.
